099-6551,324-1320or7E-9671. - John Deere: numbers look like
RE563717or a 7-digit sequence. - Komatsu: numbers often start with dashed groups like
705-51-XXXXX. - CNH (Case/New Holland): typically a longer alphanumeric such as

If the tag is worn or missing, snap a clear photo of the whole unit and any visible numbers — that's enough to cross-reference.
2. Match your machine model to the machine series
Your excavator's model (e.g. CAT 320, Deere 210G, Komatsu PC210) narrows it down fast. Final drives are sized to the machine: a 20-ton excavator uses a different gearbox than a 50-ton one. Tell us the machine model and track/undercarriage size if you know it.
